The Riders
Choose a historical portrait. Send us your photograph. We'll create your place in history.
For the pair who were clearly meant to be out riding rather than answering emails.
Present yourself. Choose your size and finish, then send us a clear photograph. We shall arrange the likeness and place you, quite convincingly, within the original portrait.
The original
Lady and Gentleman on Horseback, Aelbert Cuyp, circa 1655, reworked 1660–65, National Gallery of Art, accession 1942.9.15.
The story
Cuyp places the riders in a sweeping Dutch landscape, surrounded by horses, dogs, distant figures and an enormous sky. It has the atmosphere of a country estate and the leisurely confidence of a proper grand tour.
Fine Art Paper: museum-quality fine-art reproduction. Matte Cotton Canvas: a softly textured canvas finish for a more traditional painted appearance.
Category: THE COUPLE.
